What is OakMUN?
Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the largest international organisation, the United Nations, which aims to educate students about current affairs, topics in international relations, diplomacy, and the United Nations agenda.
MUNs attract some of the most capable students across the country who debate and tackle some of the most pressing global issues from the perspective of a delegate representing a country in the United Nations.
At Oakridge, we strive to challenge students to broaden their outlook, undertake responsibility, and holistically develop their skills. Motivating students to learn, to share experiences with like-minded students, and ultimately, to grow into successful leaders of the future.
Oakridge International School was established in 2001 in Hyderabad, the City of Pearls, in order to inspire every child to learn their treasure within. Oakridge Model United Nations (OakMUN) is a high school conference. Oakridge Model United Nations was established in 2011 as a forum for students across Hyderabad to grow outside of the classroom, specifically within the areas of debate and diplomacy.
OakMUN has attracted more than 400 student delegates and now is looking at reaching an even wider student participation base for its seventh edition. Our goal is to expose students to a new level of global challenges, and incorporate their already established interest in a particular field, and channel it towards debate and discussion on a related issue of global importance.
